Najib Not Aware Of Abdullah-Mahathir 'Gentlemen's Agreement'! Do You Believe That?
Stressing that he was not aware of any "gentlemen's agreement" between Datuk Seri Abdullah Ahmad Badawi and Tun Dr Mahathir Mohamad, Datuk Seri Najib Tun Razak said he was committed to support and be loyal to the prime minister."I don't know about that (gentlemen's agreement). I am committed to support the prime minister and be loyal to the prime minister," the Deputy Prime Minister told reporters after opening a seminar for Felda mosque officials.
Najib said his focus at the moment was on the soon-to-be-held general election and "I want to ensure the Barisan Nasional wins big."
Pressed further whether he knew about the gentlemen's agreement, Najib said: "I don't know. You have to ask the parties concerned."
He was asked to comment on the so-called "gentlemen's agreement" between Abdullah and Dr Mahathir as claimed by the former prime minister that Abdullah would serve as prime minister for only one term before passing the baton to Najib.
Dr Mahathir said yesterday that since Abdullah was older than Najib, he should be prime minister for one term and then Najib should be able to take over.
Dr Mahathir claimed the agreement was made in 2003 when he handed over the leadership to Abdullah. Dr Mahathir, however, admitted that he had no way of proving it. (Bernama)
****** My how innocent Najib is!!! This whole 'agreement' talk has all the ingredients of a sandiwara orchestrated by powerful people to pave the way for the DPM to take over the premiership. It is the beginning of a power grab and the PM should watch his steps very, very carefully lest he finds the ground from under him cut off.

Looks like our poor PM is in more "hot soup"!
Dr. M's "blue-eyed boy" Najib is ready to take over!
Then son-in-law KJ will be next to be booted out!
Well, maybe we can do them all a favour & vote them out instead?!
Dr M is a malicious rabble-rouser. N he talks crap. Does he think we are idoits? (he obviously thinks the rakyat are - look at his tantrums after his pet projects were booted out & he still dares talk nonsense). I think our PM should make him apologize.
Imagine your boss at work promotes you, then turns around and tells the whole office that he made a mistake, that he now prefers your subordinate. You not only are humiliated, the relationship between you and your subordinate becomes strained with suspicions and jealousy and you staff loose their respect for u. What an a/h!He has an agenda, that's for sure.
didnt he do it to razaleigh. hey, Tun thats how Najib will pay yu back. dont expect him to stand up to the counted. he will count his dole when he becomes PM. thats more important, aint it? guess un is aware.
How embarassing for our PM!
He has denied this so called "gentlemen's agreement" & so he should ask Dr. M to apologize or else everyone will think that it's true!
When Hussein Onn took over as PM, there was basically a deal that he would be in for 1 term only. Mahathir was all the time waiting in the wings.
Hussein Onn basically kept to the deal (he did have real health problems, though).
Bedol has probably decided he loves the PM's job very much, but he should be careful, be very, very careful.
Najib , son of a former PM, has a born-to-rule expectation, and intends to achieve it.
