Technician Charged In Melissa Darlyne Chow CCTV Incident.

I'm sure you'll all still remember Melissa Darlyne Chow, the NST reporter whose thigh was the focus of a CCTV 'peeping-tom' incident last November. Well, the case finally came to court today and a horny 53 year-old has been charged.

Ramli Chin, a Penang Municipal Council (MPPP) technician was charged with insulting a reporter's modesty by focusing a closed-circuit television camera on her thighs during a full council meeting. He claimed trial in a magistrate's court to insulting the modesty of New Straits Times reporter Melissa Darlyne Chow, 24.

He was alleged to have committed the offence during the council meeting at the City Hall building, Jalan Padang Kota Lama at 12.30pm on Nov 10, last year. Ramli, of Sungai Tiram, Bayan Lepas, was unrepresented while ASP Jafri Md Zain appeared for the prosecution.

Ramli was charged with committing the offence under Section 509 of the Penal Code, which carries a maximum jail sentence of five years or a fine, or both, upon conviction. Magistrate Ooi Sheow Yean allowed Ramli bail of RM3,000 pending his trial on May 23. Ramli posted bail. (TheStar)
