Doesn't The Malaysian Youth Council Have Anything Better To Do Than Be Envious Of Others?

Low budget airline AirAsia must 'project' the country’s culture so that foreigners can recognise it easily as a Malaysian concern. Thus spake Malaysian Youth Council president Shamsul Anuar Nasarah.

"We are happy that AirAsia is able to provide cheap air tickets to travellers but its management must ensure that the airline projects the country’s identity and culture," the wise one added.
" For example, the uniform of air stewardess did not project a Malaysian image."

When will these gentlemen who have no business acumen to speak of, stop their childish prattle and their attempts to find fault with a well run organisation? What they are basically trying to do is give vent to their deep envy of AirAsia and the fact that a non-Malay is running it far, far better than the dead-as-a-dodo MAS. The 'cultural', 'national identity' demand is just a cover, a stupid subterfuge.

MAS had the appropriate dress code and met every requirement in maintaining a Malaysian identity. Look what happened to it? It is not the blind acceptance of everything that smells of patriotism which decides the success or failure of any business concern but efficiency and the best possible service to the customer, irrespective of who they are or where they come from.

MAS failed because the government, blinded by racial fervour, went on appointing Bumi after Bumi who had precious little real experience in handling such a huge organisation. These 'tokoh korporat' bowed to many demands, unreasonable and ridiculous, from various quarters and the end result was a right-royally screwed MAS. This is the same thing that MYC's Shamsul is attempting to do here. Give in to a nobody like him now and AirAsia will have to pay the price later.

Ignore this and other idiotic attempts in the future to derail a profitable and popular venture. AirAsia as it is now has brought much fame and recognition to the nation which myopic people like Shamsul cannot clearly see. It is time that he and those of his mentality are advised to wake up and smell the kopi Tongkat Ali .

Relax, Malaysian. He is probably pissed off that an Indian Malaysian could pull off a low budget airline, beat MAS in their own game, making money at the same time, and not being a M&M. Yeah, you know what I mean. What a joke. Next thing you know, he will claim that he is the grandson (or is it son?) of Boltok the Rapist.

AirAsia is only "well run" when it comes to making profits and pleasing stockholders. The customers however get shafted with its terrible treatment.

Last December, I arrived at the LCCT 37 mins before my 2PM flight was to take off. The guy at the check-in said I was 8 minutes late and refused to check me in, even though the plane hadn't even touched-down at the airport. To add insult to injury, he said I'll have to buy another tix for the next flight at 11PM.

Well, I told him to fuck off and I took myself to KLIA and bought a tix with MAS, for only RM10 more than that 11PM ticket AirAiseh was offering. Besides, if you miss your MAS flight they'll put you on standby.

Thats why I refuse to fly AA until this December. I don't care if they offer me RM0.99 flights during this boycott period (there's always a catch)... they can go take their false advertizing and smoke it up their asses.

AA can do what it likes. MAS cant. If MAS is run like a purely business entity, it can also makes tons of money. Therefore I do not give any hoot to anybody who has a high regards of AA.

Here we go again. This bunch of ultra Malays want to put their hands not only in every cookie jars but also to stamp their thumb prints on every forehead of every Malaysians.

How I wish these people let the market forces to work itself out. This is a good example of how hand-outs mentality and how Malaysians most often rely on government to initiate everything to the exclusion of private sectors and individual's creative freedom. Enough, already!

It does not require effort to simply pass a comment and cause a sensation. This is what they want. And this a really soft target to attract baseless criticism for the Council to really work upon. Tackle the drugs, mat rempits, flood victims, corruption etc. Stand up and be counted if you are at all accountable. And do not simply say that they have done enough. Publicity ain't worth any salt. It is the results we care about. Period. Tony F - you are a Malaysian Boleh lah.

Aw, shucks, don't be too hard, man! This fool only wanted AA to hire a Pak Imam to say the "doa" before the plane took off. That is the par for Jawa where his family comes from. After all you know it is un-natural for a human to be flying. If Allah wanted it, he would have given them wings!Besides what's the harm in offering pisang goreng, cari pap and teh tarek in the departure lounge for those willing to pay. The cater can be the U Must Not Oppose party as the Manyak Idiot Committee does not admit mamaks. The Money Collecting Associates can be the cashiers. So easy to satisfy him.
