Best Wealthy Countries For Children's Wellbeing, According To Unicef.

A new Unicef report released on Wednesday puts Britain and the United States at the bottom of the table of the best wealthy countries for children.

The Netherlands, Sweden, Denmark and Finland topped the standings in the report into which were the best countries for children in the world's 21 industrialised powers.

Unicef looked at 40 indicators including poverty, health and education, family relationships.

The report said no direct link had been found between gross domestic product and children's wellbeing. It highlighted how the Czech Republic had a higher ranking than many richer countries, including France, Austria, the United States and Britain.

Unicef looked at criteria such as how many children lived in households with an income below 50 percent of the national average and how many children said there were fewer than 10 books at home. (Independent Online)

Woah.. Awesome.. and strange that UK is so low. Well, it's not surprising to see Sweden, Norway and Switzerland there!

I thought UNICIF serves the whole world? What happened to Asian, African & S American countries? Are we not good countries for children?
