Najib: Polling Day Scuffle Due To Large Number Of Aggressive Opposition Supporters From Outside

Datuk Seri Najib Tun Razak expressed disappointment over the scuffle that occurred during polling in the Permatang Pauh parliamentary by-election today caused by the presence of a large number of opposition supporters from outside.

"They brought supporters from outside. When they met Barisan Nasional supporters they started to act aggressively, so a scuffle ensured. I'm disappointed," the deputy prime minsiter said when interviewed on Edisi7 news at noon.

He said police would ensure that security was under control during the announcement of the election result Tuesday night.

Najib said that generally, the election proceeded smoothly although the turnout was poor.

According to the Election Commission, 26,914 voters had cast their votes by noon.

The by-election is a three-corner fight among Parti Keadilan Rakyat advisor Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim, the BN's Datuk Arif Shah Omar Shah and Hanafi Mamat of Akim. (Bernama)

***** According to Najib the scuffle was 'caused by the presence of a large number of opposition supporters from outside'. Past experience tells us that it was normally Umno which bussed in large numbers of outsiders in previous elections. Therefore perhaps we should take the DPM's claim with a dollop of salt.

Yes, Najib was right. Opposition supporters are rude, hooligans, badly brought-up, gangsters, mobs, monsters,......... fill in the blanks with whatever you like. The BN supporters are angles, mild mannered, god-fearing, played by the rules, victims,.......you go on.

Don't tell me these kinda incidents are not anticipated. That's why the Guv are bringing in the whole battalion to keep peace! Anyway, the media will surely play up this kind of scuffle between supporters and paint the PR a bad picture. Just watch tonite's news!

Didn't Najib knew it takes two to tango?

Yup.. it does take two to tango.. but in the case of the supporters...nobody can't control them.
Only they themselves can do it.

With that kinda atmoshpere, it'll take great inner strength to control oneself. A small spark wil lit the fire.

Name calling, booing, taunting each other will be the norm. It's a war out there.

I'm sure tonight's news will have all kind of juicy stories to report. Who knows the result may even take a back seat!

phew.it's a war!

then again, both BN and PKR cant control all of their thousand of supporters.the supporters should known better that they must observe the good name of the party and not to stir and creates chaos.

but still there are always a**hole anywhere.

Ya rite! We believe this crook!
By the way, unoffically, DSAI has whipped the UMNO stooge by more than 17,000 votes...the Permatang Pauh voters have spoken. Even with all the dirty tricks used by UMNO, DSAI has got a larger majority!!!!!

Sour grapes from Najib who is beginning to sound like he is in the minority instead of the ruling majority party.

This kind of comment used to be heard by PKR, DAP and PAS leaders in the past.

Congrats to Datuk Anwar (the opposition) for winning the Permatang Pauh by-election.
I hope we can put trust on him to reduce rakyat's burden. Nowadays everything is going up-up : minyak, mee goreng, tambang bas, beras etc. etc
Yes! We want some changing for these. 'Rakyat' has loss confidence wth our g*vt. Time to change to save us. Minyak! Minyak! Minyak! Maybe my 'current' car can still be saved before trade-in for 'kancil'.
We support whoever 'struggle' & commited to handle the price hike.
But, a promise is a promise. Let's hope no emptiness.

Peace sell, but who's buying?

Anonymous,
It is umno who brought out all the idiots and scoundrels to try and intimidate the voters and umno got shit on their face. The biggest joke was on Najib and of course the ass called Arif who thinks by speaking hokkien he can win. Ezam is traitor thought he could sway the voters, he got a load of shit on his face as well. The stupid Saifool thought by swearing on the Koran he could get Allah to help umno, Allah is a great God unlike the goons known as Badawi and Najib who thinks money can buy votes, they got shit in return for the money, even the Malays gave them two fingers. Only the muslims in umno can proudly swear on the Holy book after all the sins they commit, they think corruption is a way of life, umno is infested with corrupted people from top to the bottom. Where is the loud mouth Khairy, umno is now buried, what have you got to say, you miserable half breed!!!Too bad I cannot find a better word for an ass like you Khairy, lick the balls of your father in law and hope for big position.
Enough Said.
