Changes At the Top At NST
Syed Nadzri Syed Harun assumes the position of group editor of the New Straits Times from today.
Syed Nadzri, who joined the NST in 1979 as a cadet journalist, has held various positions, including chief news editor and executive editor and for the past month was the group editor designate.
He replaces Brendan Pereira whose contract ended yesterday.
New Straits Times Press (M) Bhd group editor-in-chief Datuk Hishamuddin Aun, who announced the appointment, also said executive editor, News, Life & Times, Kamrul Idris Zulkifli has been appointed deputy group editor of the newspaper.
Kamrul will also continue to oversee the Opinion and Editorial pages.
Chief news editor K.P. Waran takes over as executive editor, News. He has been a journalist with the NST for 25 years.
Hishamuddin also announced that Rajan Moses’ contract as executive editor, Business Times, has been extended, while P’ng Hong Kwang remains as executive editor (production). (NST)
